This is the first of two weekly discussions – I drop the lower score of the two. It will consist of you going to the internet and, utilizing an authentic web source, write a short report about a topic of your choice discussed in any one of the chapters for Week 2 (Chapters 5, 10, 11, 12, 13) or Week 3 (Chapters 14, 16, 17, 20, or 21). After you have picked a subject or topic, follow the guidelines in the rubric and in Authentic Web Research and Correct Citation.
Directions: Provide some information about your chosen topic that builds on the teaching in the textbook. Answer these questions:
Discuss research findings, a treatment protocol, medication or technology such as a new diagnostic test, or a new way to interpret data for patient safety.
How would this information be helpful in patient care?
What new insight does this give you and your classmates as healthcare providers and RN\’s?
Once you post your discussion, you will be able to pick a classmate\’s post to review. Your task is to supply some addition information about their topic that serves to clarify, illuminate, and augment the information they supplied in their post.
Your original post must contain a minimum of 400 words, and a response to one of your classmates of at least 250 words. Your response should highlight some aspect of the discussion not covered by your peer. You will need two authentic web sources, cited in-text and referenced: one for your post, and one that backs up the information in your peer response – these cannot be the same source.
You may also post pictures, short videos, animations to highlight your discussion (but not to take the place of your discussion.) You must copy and paste your discussion into the reply window. Any written work that is sent as an attachment will not be graded, thanks.
