1)It is important to understand that ethical requirements serve to ensure that criminal justice systems are fair and efficient. Policymakers are required by ethics to consider how their decisions will affect each individual. Some examples of how ethics may influence police activity are: how they interact with communities and how those communities respond to them.
An example of an ethics concern that could impact future policy decisions, is the influence of lobbyists this issue might affect future policy decisions. By giving legislators gifts, lunches, and other benefits, lobbyists typically try to persuade legislators and influence their decisions. This can lead to a conflict of interest since the politician may be more inclined to support legislation that helps the lobbyist\’s clients, even if it is not in the best interests of the general public. Policymakers should only implement laws that will strengthen, justify, and enhance the criminal justice system. They should refrain from passing laws that, will weaken the system or harm the people it is supposed to protect. Additionally, it is the duty of policymakers to be open about their decision-making procedures.
