Lecture : Jill Moniz UT Bio: Jill Moniz is an independent-minded curator of visual narratives. Her curatorial investigations support local artists and communities in site-specific installations, programming and exhibitions. She works closely with multiple arts organizations in LA and around the world. Her noted exhibitions in Los Angeles include LA Blacksmith at the California African American Museum (2019-2020), The RIDDLE Effect at Craft Contemporary (2019), and Photo Flux: Unshuttering LA, currently on view at the Getty Museum and Serpentine Fire at Quotidian. jill’s goal for transformative arts is to make spaces where access to visual literacy is always for the greater good.

Always try to buid and invitations to those rapturous space when shes working
The community that shes thinking shes building may only be in her head is one of the thing shes afraid about. Her people is definitely her people, they have made her truer.
If you only value our own story youre a very shitty storyteller, she think it is a very useful skill to have to use other people’s artworks to tell stories
Her way of making connections with other people and clients is mostly due to circumstances, in a sense, people know what she does, want and able to do.

“You do what you know what to do” – story after her mother passed, her friend wants her to come to a show rather than sitting around and do what she knows best.
