For every reference on the reference page, there should be an in-line cite and for every in-line cite there should be a reference listed on the reference page.
The paper must contain at least two references from peer reviewed sociological journals.
A rule of thumb is at least two references for every page of the body. e.g. three pages of essay would require approximately six references.
References from public websites should not be the majority of the references
Online text-books can be used as references.

Do Not Use Wikipedia. Although you cannot use Wikipedia, you can look at the references that the author of the Wikipedia article used. You should be able to review the reference list and find some legitimate academic articles, news or textbooks pertaining to your topic. Go to those sources rather than trying to use Wikipedia itself.
Begin with an introductory paragraph that describes the topic and why it is important.

Transition to the first paradigm
Use a couple of paragraphs to interpret the issue linking it to a sociological perspective. Be sure that the paper looks and feels like a sociology paper.
Incorporate the applicable vocabulary and establish the link(s) to your topic and conflict theory.
Transition to the second paradigm (functionalism)
Tie everything together in a section labeled âConclusionâ

Include a discussion, at the macro level, on the required theories and the selected topic. If the theories are not discussed or mentioned in the paper, the paper will receive a failing grade.

Include any mention of, reference to, vocabulary, theory or any sociological verbiage that includes identifies the paper as being a sociology paper. This will result in a failing grade.
